On Tuesday 10th July members of Stainburn Radio attended the Arqiva Schools Radio Station of the Year Award ceremony. The event was hosted at the Houses of Parliament and featured the best of Britain’s school radio stations.
Stainburn Radio was announced as the overall winner in front of MP’s and radio celebrities including Paul Gambacinni and Nicholas Parsons on the terrace by the River Thames. The award winners were then given a special tour of the Houses of Parliament by Tony Cunningham MP and even got to use the special exit into Westminster tube station.
A great time was had by all and this award is for all the students and staff who have put in hard work over the last few year to take Stainburn Radio where it is today.

Well done Stainburn Radio! Great to see a school from West Cumbria acheiving on a national scale. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for Stainburn Radio.
